Routing Faxes

Other Related Topics...

You can route any fax from your Incoming Faxes Queue or from the Unaddressed Faxes list to another FaxPress Enterprise user. To route from the Unaddressed Faxes list you must have Router, Operator or Administrator  privileges.

Until automatic routing is configured, all incoming faxes will be sent by default to the Unaddressed Faxes folder. The faxes must then be routed from the Unaddressed mailbox to the recipients. Faxes can be routed either by right-clicking on the fax and selecting Route, or by using the Drag and Drop Routing Tool.

The FaxPress Enterprise provides two ways to route faxes: the Drag and Drop Routing Tool and context menu routing.

Using the Drag and Drop Routing Tool

The FaxPress Enterprise’s Drag and Drop Routing Tool allows users with Router privileges to route inbound faxes right to users’ FaxPress Enterprise mailboxes with a single mouse click. The Router can view only the first page (cover page) of the fax, maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of the fax transaction content.

See Creating FaxPress Enterprise User and Group Accounts for more information on Router privileges.

To use the Drag and Drop Routing Tool, follow these steps:

1. In FaxPress Plus, with the Unaddressed Faxes folder selected, go to Fax>Routing Tool.

2. Enter a Notification Message, then drag the fax from the Unaddressed Faxes folder to the recipient.

3. The Notification Message will appear in the Comments field, and will also appear in the fax notification message informing the recipient of the fax. See Notices and Alerts for more information on fax notification.

Using Context Menu Routing

To route a fax to another FaxPress Enterprise user, follow these steps:

1. Right-click on the fax you want to forward and select Route...

2. The Route Fax dialog box opens.

3. Select recipient from the Distribution List of all current FaxPress Enterprise users. You can Click on a single user, CtrlClick on multiple users, ShiftClick on a range of users, or Click on <All Mailboxes>. Or, you can type a user name in the Distribution Name dialog box. If you want a message to appear in the notice that appears in your own and in the recipient's Notices list, enter the message in the Notification message edit box.
4. Click on the OK button to forward the fax.
